I built a live software product by directing AI in plain English. Now I teach other operators to do the same.

I spent years in construction management, watching small business owners (plumbers, electricians, HVAC contractors, framers) drown in back-office work. Quoting, scheduling, invoicing, customer follow-up. Most of them didn't get into the trades to push paper. They got in to do the work. The paper is what kept them off the jobsite.

So I started exploring whether AI could actually handle it. Not as a chatbot you ask questions, but as something you direct to do real work. I came at it as an operator, not an engineer, and that turned out to matter far less than I expected.

Turns out, that was the unlock.

I built STUDD AI, a SaaS platform for residential subcontractors, by describing what I wanted in plain English and refining it until it worked. Every instruction, every workflow, every guardrail, written like memos to a thoughtful new hire. It's live, with real users. I'm not a developer. I'm an operator who learned to make AI do real work, and STUDD is the proof it holds up outside a demo.

Then I realized: the methodology is more valuable than the product. Every business owner I talked to had the same problem I started with. Too much back-office work, no tech team, no time to learn to code. And they all wanted the same thing: not a tool, but a way of working.

So I started Chambers of Excellence. The consulting practice teaches business operators what I figured out building STUDD: how to design AI agents in plain English, how to give them the context they need to act on your behalf, and how to evolve the system as your business grows. By the end of an engagement, you and your team can manage and extend your own AI operating system. You don't become dependent on me. You become capable without me.

I'm not consulting from a textbook. I built a real product this way, and I work with AI like this every day. The methodology I teach is the one I actually use.
